How to Become a Guru in Flash Mode

How to Become a Guru in Flash Mode

If you want to get the most out of your fantasy football experience, why not up your game and try the Flash Mode instead?

What is a Flash Mode?

Flash Mode is a newly introduced game mode that is unique and packed with interesting ideas. In this game, you have only 3 minutes to pick your game, after which you are no longer allowed to make any changes. With tight time limit as its factor, you could end up feeling frustrated for not being able to complete your team.

Though it’s almost identical to the traditional fantasy football game when it comes to points system, you can master some important strategic skills to become a guru in this game mode. Here are some of the tips that you can follow by heart:

  • Take your sweetest time and decide your picks as late as possible, would even be better if you can make your picks till Saturday morning. This is to avoid the headaches when your players have injuries or if there were surprising changes in the team sheets.
  • Because of the above, you don’t need to spend too much time or budget on your bench. There’s no need for you to have your 2nd or 3rd subs if you pick your team as late as possible.
  • Remember that you have limited selection options because you are playing with a unique, shared or lucky list of players. Put in every big hitter that you can and forget about stressing on the budget entirely.

How Do You Pick Your Team?

Though team selection is hard to master, here are the 5 steps that you can apply to ensure that you end up with a good team.

  1. Prioritize Elites

How do you set your priorities in choosing who makes up your team? First, select the heavy hitters, then get your elite forward, choose your 2 or 3 elite midfielders and 2 elite defenders/keepers. These 5-7 players could make up 80% of your points.

  1. Reliability

Once you have picked your heavy hitters, the rest of your XI should be filled with good reliable players. Doing this will avoid your first XI to be autocompleted should you lose track of time. Choose those fantasy players who are proven to be reliable.

  1. Captains

You can be overwhelmed with picking your heavy hitters and other team members that you could end up forgetting the icing on the cake – that is the captain. Once you have your selection of your elite players and first XI filled, choose your captain and vice-captain. Though the system automatically selects the most expensive player as the captain, this may not be always the best choice.

  1. Tweak and refine

You should complete the first 3 steps above in your 2 minutes time limit so that you still have a minute left to review your selection. This is the time to finalize your team so it’s entirely up to you how you do tweak and refine your selections.

  1. Picking Subs

Don’t spend much time on choosing for subs since they are unlikely to play. Choose for players who are guaranteed to start in the event that they are needed.
