8 leagues all private and competitive

1) = 7 of 12 (5-8) ... 3rd in points though
2) = 6 of 12 (7-6).. injuries all year (Bulger/Duece)
3) = 1 of 10 (9-4) Keeper League
4) = 2 of 12 (9-4) Keeper league

5) = 4 of 12 (8-5) Dynasty League... should of been 9-4 with a bye but some how managed to forget to start a kicker and 2 out of 6 IDP's - total brain fart on my part.

6) = 7 of 12 (6-7).. autodraft
7) = 7 of 12 (7-6).. autodraft ....missed playoff by 14 points
8) = 3 of 12 (8-5)

Not one of my better regular seasons in football ....just some plain old bad luck with injuries and opponets having thier best weeks of the year agianst me.

I am hoping for a run in the playoffs on quite a few of those teams though.

Tied for 1st outta 10.
5th outta 10 (Coming on strong at the end thanks to Larry Johnson.)
9th outta 10 (I knew coming out of the draft I was in trouble in this league and then losing McAllister for the season really hurt).

Overall I'm disappointed in my results this year, but I chalk it up to a learning experience.

Kicked ass all year.

Then Bulger got hurt.

Now Collins is being replaced by Tuiasosopo.

I am fucked. No more waiver moves available.. used them all.

My season is done. I need a miracle and for Norv Turner to pull his head out of his vagina.

McNabb a reach? You're using hindsight.

First round in my draft - let's all think back to where we were in late August:

1. Tomlinson
2. Manning
3. Alexander
4. P. Holmes
5. McAllister
6. Culpepper
7. Moss
8. McGahee

My pick - and who's left? Edgerrin James, Corey Dillon, and Julius Jones are the best running backs I see. With Manning and Culpepper gone, the remining top flight quarterbacks (subjective) would be the likes of Brady, Brees, Palmer, maybe Leftwich, maybe Delhomme, maybe Favre...heavy dropoff from McNabb based on his 2004 season.

So I take McNabb. No reach.

9. McNabb

10. Edgerrin James

-Round 2-

11. Corey Dillon
12. (me) Julius Jones

Edge woulda been a steal with the tenth pick. It depends on your league's scoring and the number of teams, but I think most fantasy players and experts would agree taking a QB in the first round is not a wise pick. While McNabb was the undesputable third best QB coming into this season, most experts pegged him to be no higher than a late second round pick. In fact, many experts even debated the value of Manning as a first round pick. I come from the philosphy of drafting a RB in the first round; a RB in the second round; and if possible, a RB in the third round. I, too, drafted 9th in a ten team league. I made the mistake of drafting Dillon.
Everyone has their own approach to the draft and who to take. In my book, a QB was a strech that early when guys like Edge, Dommink Davis, Jamal Lewis, Tiki Barber, and Corey Dillon are still on the board.
Of course, it's always easier in hindsight. I think this has been one of the worst fantasy football seasons I've ever seen. There are only a handful of starting RBs who are putting up good stats every week. Injuries have been brutal (but aren't they always). And guys performing completely outta their minds are making some lucky owners feel like geniuses (I'm talking to you, Thomas Jones' owners -- don't act like you expected those kinda numbers). The only thing I can say is better luck next year -- try not to freak out and have a heart attack in the offseason.

OK, in my one money league, I drafted 10th out of 12 teams, and ended up with:

1. D. McAllister
2. D. McNabb
3. N. Burleson
4. A. Gates
5. Baltimore Def
6. A. Boldin
7. W. Dunn
8. E. Moulds
9. Ke. Johnson
10. S. Davis
11. D. Carr
12. J. Bettis
13. J. Harrington
14. B. Franks
15. M. Jenkins
16. Miami
17. J. Kasay

I'll let you guess how I did..........

......... and you'd probably guess wrong.

I'm leading my league in points by a mile, tied for first in wins, and am the only team to have clinched a playoff spot going in to this weekend (OK, not true, I COULD lose out, but it would take such a wild combination of events that it would be virtually impossible: four games all have to go against me, and then three teams would ALL have to outscore me by over 100 points for me to lose the tiebreaker).

And if you had told me that that would happen with only one player starting for me every single week, and that player was Warrick Dunn? I'd have told you you were insane.

In one private league(suprise for me, usually in at least 2 or 3), started out the season 2-6 with no hopes of making the playoffs although I had a strong team but consistently lost close games. Then the turning point of my season came with the trade for L.J. I traded away Gates, Bruce, and Perry for L.J., Cooley, and boldin and ever since then my team has been on fire. Got help from this site and even though it was an obvious trade for me to make some of the people on this site made it more than obvious and pushed me to do it. I also made a trade to get Deshaun Foster for the playoff run but my big mistake was trading awaw Cadillac for Ronnie Brown, thought caddy wouldn't be the same... I've won 6 in a row, I'm the 3rd seed in the playoffs and made it to the second round and looking like the team to beat right now...

QB Peyton Manning
QB David Garrard
RB Larry Johnson
RB Thomas Jones
RB Samkon Gado
RB DeShaun Foster
RB Ronnie Brown
WR Chad Johnson
WR Plaxico Burress
WR Anquan Boldin
WR Roddy White
TE Chris Cooley
K Neil Rackers
K Josh Scobee
DEF Cincy, DEF NY Giants 12x16 league...
