I don't know if I should take the chance to start him this week. Will he play all week or will he begin his suspension? I know he will play until a hearing is scheduled, but when?

I just grabbed LA Dodger Russell Martin for the week that I will need a replacement.

Any thoughts on what to do with Michael Barrett this week?

I think you are safe to start him this week. I have seen no news of when his appeal will be heard so it probably won't be until next week.
