In this new NASCAR age of safety first (All 20 lug nuts must be tight, the windshield cannot be dirty, PC rules, if there is mist the race must be postponed, hans devices, engine kill buttons, fuel cell bladders, the dreaded COT etc)why in yesterdays Dover event when Stewart can in to switch drivers and let Rudd the has been get in the car, why did we see officials peering into the car from all sides to make sure he was properly belted in and "safe" why why why was it OK for Tony to 1-put down his window net 2-remove his helmet 3-unbuckle himself from the seat, all before even entering pitroad? Don't tell me it was because the race was under caution. Remember what happened to Steve Park under caution? How about DJ nearly killing a driver under caution. If they are so concerned about safety, why could Tony put himself in such a vulnerable position and NASCAR turn their heads? And while I'm ranting, is anyone else sick of hearing Mike Joy pronounce pit road as pit rod? My God he sounds like Suzy Kolber trying team say any word with a long e-leeug or teum. I hate her and her stoned looking eyes. Screw boogity boogity boogity and come on NBC, maybe we can see a restart for a change and knowledgeable analysts for a change. I'd also like to see the track safety workers actually picking up a piece of debris when NASCAR conveinently throws a yellow to help their new baby JJ get a lap back, like they used to do for Gordon.

Then all the son's of Troy shall die!

I agree with 100% about your rant on safety and nascar - you make some valid points about Stewart being allowed to start. I don't so much have a problem with it as its has always been that way but I do agree with you.

FOX Sports ruins everything they touch - Nascar,Baseball etc.... at least our exposure to Jeannie Zelasko has been limited this year. She is by far the worst ever sports broadcaster to ever pick up a microphone.

I'd take a swing at DW if I got close enough. What a complete tool he is .... you can actually see McReynolds cringe in the booth sometimes when DW makes a moronic comment. And if you pay attention you will often see McReynolds in a round about way correct DW's errors.

The thing about DW is he thinks he is the *STAR* of the telecast and will cater to the popularity just to garner fan support and take out his dislike of other drivers during the telecast - especially ones he that actually drove circles around him during his last few years when all he did was go out and make laps in the Western Auto car.

Even though I don't like how ESPN monopolizes sports, thier race broadcasts where 2nd to none. I miss the days of Bob Jenks calling the races and Dr.Jerry Punch in the pits.

Jeff Burton fan here ..... just curious who do you favor.
