Williams tough question to answer but i say go for it. i'm assuming you don't have to stay under your cap during the season, just be under it after your draft. prices inflate over the course of the contract? if yes then how much? you're getting 2 A contracts for a couple B's and you're getting some pretty nice talent out of it. it would hurt to lose Phaneuf but you have Mara and Smid sitting on your bench plus Jack Johnson waiting to dominate down the road. you don't have a specific "defenseman's" category so losing Phaneuf won't kill you in Goals or something, it's only total roto Goals that you need to worry about and Vanek will make up for that loss over the course of the season. Stillman is a bit of a wildcard but i expect him back around Christmas and contributing full bore within a month of that. i think the deal looks good. hate losing Phaneuf but you can afford the loss, get contracts for an extra year and don't seem to lose anything offensively. oh and you can afford the goalie loss too with Turco and Rolo there.

Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the guy who was originally hot on this offer just changed his tune and is now asking for E. Staal instead of Gerber, so it's a no go.
