My bro is 3rd in 12 team standard daily roto casual yahoo league.

3rd place Naslunders
C Jason Spezza(Ott - C)
C E. Malkin(Pit - C) // LW soon
LW A. Ovechkin(Was - LW)
LW T. Vanek(Buf - LW)
RW Glen Murray (Bos - RW)
RW V. Prospal(TB - C,RW)
D Z. Chara(Bos - D)
D L. Visnovsky(LA - D)
D J. Pitkanen(Phi - D)
D S. Souray(Mon - D)
BN E. Staal(Car - C)
BN S. Gomez(NJ - C) DTD
BN Chris Neil(Ott - RW)
IR T. Bertuzzi(Fla - RW)

G R. Miller(Buf - G)
G K. Lehtonen(Atl - G)
BN H. Toivonen(Bos - G) NA

He could add DCloutier, Bryzgalov, Legace for Toivonen. Neil and Gomez for Demitra and Nagy.

"if" you're interested in FA options

http://www.talentedmrroto.com/forum/Topic278880-32-1.aspx?Update=1

Someone offered Gagne, Salo, Forsberg, Bryzgalov, Leclaire for Malkin, Chara, Lehtonen, RMiller. What a joke! Of course, person dumped Leclaire and Bryzgalov.

7th place Nova Scotia Neegees is loaded on offense but needs a G
C Mats Sundin (Tor - C)
C Peter Forsberg (Phi - C)
LW Darcy Tucker (Tor - LW,RW)
LW Simon Gagne (Phi - LW)
RW Martin St. Louis (TB - RW)
RW Shane Doan (Pho - RW)
D Ed Jovanovski (Pho - D)
D Sami Salo (Van - D) DTD
D Wade Redden (Ott - D) DTD
D Pavel Kubina (Tor - D) IR
BN Dany Heatley (Ott - LW,RW)
BN Sean Avery (LA - C)
BN Jarome Iginla (Cgy - RW)

G Tim Thomas (Bos - G)
G Olaf Kolzig (Was - G)
BN Marc Denis (TB - G)
IR Nikolai Khabibulin (Chi - G) IR

I don't see my brother trading a RMiller but he could trade Lehtonen for Denis but get back a scorer.

What should he do? Malkin will get LW soon so he could trade Vanek. He could trade one of Gomez, Staal or Spezza. Or dump Gomez.

Counteroffer for a winger? Heatley has a pretty low rank. So does Gagne.

-Prospal and Vanek for Heatley?
-Gomez, Vanek, Prospal for Heatley, Gagne?

Thanks

Long live the Expos...............in my memory.

you could try Gomez/Lehtonen for Heatley/Denis.  you get a scoring winger and balance your bench a little.  do not drop Gomez, if he has less use to you then shop him off your bench.

Thanks for the reply in both posts, Ian.

Hopefully he can get Bryzgalov. Maybe trade bait?

Getting Denis would be good since he'd be getting back a starter. Will he post good numbers in front of TB whose D isn't as good? Denis has been tested playing for Columbus so he should be alright for TB.

1) Is it better to trade Gomez and Lehtonen to the 1st place team (only has Yashin and Arnott for C but he has Phaneuf and Brodeur/Auld) for Vokoun? Told him to do this when both Gomez/Lehtonen were hot. He could have gotten Brodeur or even Kipper!

-Gomez, Lehtonen, Souray for Phaneuf and Vokoun?

Or

2) Is he better off trading with a lower team like 10th place team who has some good buy low players? LW Nash, LW/RW Gaborik, C/LW Elias; could use another D (AMarkov, Van Ryn, Commodore, Westcott IR); has Kipper, Fleury and Huet. He'll get a solid G and but Gaborik is no Heatley.

-Gomez, Vanek, Lehtonen for Nash or Gaborik, Kipper?

-Gomez, Souray, Vanek, Lehtonen for Nash, Gaborik, Kipper?

Thanks again.

Long live the Expos...............in my memory.

bigger isnt necessarily better.  the guy in 1st place isnt going to want to totally shake up his team and why would he?  he's already in 1st place so why would he ruin that?  i have Denis as my G2 in TMRX and im confident that he'll give the ratios that i need from him.  downgrading from Lehtonen to Denis is a good move if you can add a quality winger that you need for what amounts to a spare center in Gomez.

i don't remember who has Vokoun but if you can get him then do so.  particularly if you can still shift Gomez and get a winger out of it.

the guy in 11th may be more open to a bigger deal, after all what's a shakeup gonna do, make him lose by more?   targeting Kipper is wise.  i think Calgary is poised to break out again and Kip will lead the way.

Agree with Ian on both forums - if you can get a Heatley you're laughing, however do not simply drop Gomez - he's worth something still.

1st place team has Vokoun, Brodeur and Auld so Vokoun's out of the question.

a) Person doesn't want Gomez bc plenty of FA C. He added Lindros for Kubina. Wonder if Vanek and Souray for Heatley would work since he only has 3 D. Brother didn't offer Lehtonen bc not sure about Denis.

b) I told him to target Kipper since Lehtonen's Yahoo ranking is back up to 23. Atlanta has 12 wins while CGY only has 5. Good goalie hard to come by than scorers.

So looks like:

- Lehtonen, Gomez for Kipper and winger (below)

OR

- Lehtonen, Gomez, GMurray (nice ranking) for Kipper and 1 or 2 wingers  // could grab a FA D (Poti, Ohlund, Mara, BStuart, Kim Johnsson)

How would you rank LW Nash, LW/RW Gaborik, RW Gionta (not buy low), C/LW Elias?

Thanks for pitching in Silver Robot.

Long live the Expos...............in my memory.
