I think I don't have enough speed, though I do have a couple multi-cat guys and Ramirez - any opinions? I'm a total rookie at fantasy baseball drafting.

I am kinda iffy about Alex Gordon being your starting 3B. I would have tried to at least get a decent 3B then Alex as a backup. You got some good value picks out of Iguchi and Burke, IMO. In regards to your speed, I think you are alright but if any combo of Duffy, Burke, A. Gordon and Granderson get it going for SB's, you'll be gold.

| Love your 1st 4 rds - after that its little hit or miss for me. Think you reached a little on Jered Weaver and you are asking Piazza, Schilling and JD Drew to all stay healthy. Agree with Postman on Gordon, because you already have alot riding on one rookie in Delmon Young - but this is a team that should be able to stay in the hunt, and if you stay vigilent on the free agent market - should have a good chance to finish in the money.

| I think you reached a bit on Matsui--not that 5th round-ish isn't where he should go, but I think you should have taken a P there instead and an OF in the 6th, personally. I love Smoltz (he's my favorite baseball player of all time) but I would prefer to have him as a number 2 on my squads--of course I don't know how early pitching got drafted. GREAT job on Tex at 18. Anytime I can snake him in the 2nd round this year I"m doing it. And don't worry about 3B--how is everyone sleeping on Edwin Encarnacion?? I think he'll start hot enough (ala 2006) to give Gordon time to get adjusted. Overall, I'm not a fan of your pitching staff--Smoltz and Schill is a lot of years to lean on, and I thik Jered's in for a readjustment (and I'm not alone on that thinking either) No koolaid for me this year. Patterson could end being fantastic value though. Think you reached a little on [Tom] Gordon--that's about right for his value but earlier than I've been seeing him go. I hate JD Drew and the 11th is too early for Piazza(or any catcher) imho.

Yeah, for some reason I have a man-crush on Weaver, all because as a Stanford student, I watched him decimate my Cardinal when we were the number 1 ranked squad with the most ridiculous pitching I'd ever seen. These shoulder problem reports I've been hearing are making me a bit nervous as well.
Also, the only pitcher drafted before Smoltz after my Matsui pick was Dice K, who I wouldn't have drafted over Smoltz. Of all people, Felix Hernandez went at the start of the 5th, after my Vernon Wells pick, and was the only starter off the board between Wells and Matsui, so I think I gambled well there.
