My bro is 2nd (6 pts behind leader) in 12 team standard daily roto yahoo league.

He's last in +/- with -68. Next person is -27. Don't think he'll gain 1 more point in -/+ so he'll have to focus on G, A, PPP, PIM. GWG is a crap shoot.

Standings:
http://hockey.fantasysports.yahoo.com/hockey/69882/standings

The Naslunders
C J. Spezza(Ott - C) DTD
C E. Staal(Car - C)
LW A. Ovechkin(Was - LW)
LW E. Malkin(Pit - C,LW)
RW G. Murray (Bos - RW)
RW P. Demitra(Min - C,RW)
D Z. Chara(Bos - D)
D L. Visnovsky(LA - D) DTD
D T. Preissing(Ott - D)
D S. Souray(Mon - D)
BN M. Carle(SJ - D)
BN R. Nash(Cls - LW)
IR T. Bertuzzi(Fla - RW)

G R. Miller(Buf - G)
G M. Kiprusoff(Cgy - G)
BN C. Mason (Nsh - G)
BN I. Bryzgalov(Anh - G)

He likes to keep his G for cheap Wins so I don't think he'll dump one of them. Mason has been amazing, while Bryz not quite. He needs RW help.

He's got WW#8 so hopefully he can grab Havlat or Tucker for Preissing (+/- won't be of much help and not enough PIM,PPP, P, A) or GMurray (out indefinitely). Guy in 1st place (WW#11) is very active; close in PIM to my bro but trails my bro in G, A, PPP.

Does he get Tucker right away (March 10) or save it for Havlat (March 11) but risk going empty handed? Grab Tucker (TOR still in race) so 1st place doesn't get PIM help or grab Havlat (injury prone?? CHI out of race)?

He could always add FA SAvery then WW Havlat which is risky. I'm assuming he'll only get Tucker or Havlat thru WW then who should he add for Preissing or GMurray?

FA
C JStaal (PIT playing well;(moved to top line so does that mean he'll be LW eligible????)
C/LW/RW SAvery (is he really getting first line duty with all the NYR injuries?)
RW Vyborny, Recchi, AKovalev
RW Afinogenov (IR)
D Pitkanen (has been better)
D AZhitnik

If Visnovsky out longer then I think he can dump Bryz for D like Pitkanen (pts, PPP, PIM) or Zhitnik (ATL in playoff race).

Thanks for your help.

drop Carle for Zhitnik unless this is a keeper league.

make claims for both Havlat and Tucker but dropping Preissing and Murray.  when one of the two moves fails then add Avery for PIMs if there is indeed room to move up in PIMs.

i wouldn't be hanging on to either Bryz or Mason now, they're the backups and you could use those slots to cycle both or just one and pick up Staal for the G.  Staal won't be getting LW eligibility this late in the season, i don't imagine.

Thanks Ian.

Well, Bryz gave him a nice start vs EDM on Friday. He got DTucker for GMurray but hasn't made any other roster changes.

Where would BOS C PBergeron fit into all of this? Use WW#11? Bro's team doesn't really need another C since he has Demitra or Malkin but PBergeron is pretty good.

Avery seems like a good add since he could use another RW (-11 games). Never realized RW was so shallow this year.

Eric Maltais and Pete Becker have been talking a bit about the lack of depth at RW this year and they're right.

i don't think you need Bergeron, unless you plan to play either Demitra or Malkin on the wing they're eligible on.  Bergeron has been doing well of late, i've been expecting him to break out for a while now, just got his 19th last night i believe.  if you can stomach the +/- then he's a good add.

He missed out on Zhitnik so he'll have to keep Carle and dump Preissing. Since Shanahan might be coming back, is it still a good idea to add Avery?
Will he get enough minutes to be a s*** disturber?

FA
C/RW Boyes (have always liked him)
RW Stempniak (who??)
C/RW Prucha
RW Stafford
C/RW Wellwood

WW
Gagne
Roloson

Thanks.

you won't be moving up in +/- but can you still trade Preissing?  keeping him on your roster may be the best way to keep him from adding roto pts to somebody else's team.  i much prefer the option of trading Preissing to just dumping him.

Avery is still a good add for PIMs, but PIMs can be moved up in by using cycling.  goons are on the wire everywhere and you might want to look at cycling just for PIMs for a while since you're not going to make your +/- much worse.
