I tried (sort of) to adopt an MRIish philosophy as the league is so deep (20 team, 5x5 Yahoo league). I don't know that it quite worked and I've got a feeling my pitching is going to be too weak to compete. Any advice on how to fix this, or any other holes, appreciated.

I had pick 12 btw.

C-Iannetta

1B - Derrek Lee

2B - Kinsler

3B - Crede

SS - Carlos Guillen

OF - Vlad Guerrero, Rios, Hunter

Util - Adrian Gonzalez

Bench - Dave Roberts (OF), Overbay (1B)

SP - Webb, Matsuzaka

RP - Howry, Shields,

P - Doug Davis, Vincente Padilla, Stauffer

Bench - Duchscherer, Salas

cheers

I like you offense a lot for a 20 team league. A whole lot. I've never played in a league that large, but honestly, it doesn't look that much worse than a lot of 10 team offenses I've seen.

However, I'd have to say that your attempt at an MRI strategy was a bit of a swing and a miss, although you didn't strike out yet. I am NOT an expert at this, but my understanding of the strategy was to get 2 good high K SPs, 1 lesser value starter, 1 closer, and then about 5 middle relievers. I think you need MORE middle relievers, less bad starters (who wind up hurting more than they help) and you don't really seem to have a closer.

Drop Stauffer for a middle releiver, Padilla is an ok starter, though you don't want to use him at home against good hitting teams.  Nice team on offense though considering the size of the league.
