my team is doing well in pitching but struggling on the offensive side. the league counts R, H, 1B, 2B, HR, RBI, AVG, SB, BB, OBP, OPS. i am doing well in SB and BB (2nd in both categories) but am in 8th in H and 2B; 9th in AVG and OBP, and last in HR and OPS. Doing well in pitching where we count W, L, CG, SV, BB, K, ERA, WHIP and K/9. Ranked 5th in SV and ERA but well above average in other pitching categories.

C- Russell Martin
1B- Carlos Delgado
2B- Robinson Canó
3B- Garrett Atkins
SS- José Reyes
OF- Michael Cuddyer
OF- Bobby Abreu
OF- Alfonso Soriano
U- Travis Hafner
BN- Mark Teahen
BN- Delmon Young (being dropped for Bill Hall)

SP- Verlander
SP- Sabathia
RP- Putz
RP- Nathan
P- Al Reyes
P- Octavio Dotel
P- Ian Snell
P- Tim Lincecum
P- Randy Johnson
P- Cole Hamels
DL- Phil Hughes

my question: what moves should i be considering to help get my team in contention? I am in 6th place now (114.5), but within 10 points of 2nd place (124.5) who is 21.5 pts behind 1st (146). help me make a deal with this team who is doing well offensively but poorly pitching wise:

C- Posada
1B- Morneau
2B- Utley
3B- Ramirez
SS- Rollins
OF- Holliday
OF- Griffey
OF- Hunter
U- Bonds
BN- Beltre
BN- Sosa
BN- Giambi

SP- Looper
SP- Pettitte
RP- Valverde
RP- Wickman
P- Fuentes
P- Harang
P- Zito
P- Johan Santana
DL- Schmidt

I don't know, how about offering Abreu and Johnson for Ramirez and Zito or Pettitte.  You need a 3B and he has 2 on his team.  Crap, that won't work he doesn't need another OF.  The problem is there are no bench pitchers so working out a trade means trading an equal number of pitchers.  You could use a 3B, but yuo don't have many players who would help his offense -- I see 3: Martin, Hafner and Reyes.  Posada has been playing well, Hafner has struggled and Reyes isn't a huge upgrade from Rollins.  I just don't see a deal that works, I will think about it some more but I have spent 10 minutes looking for a deal and cannot find one.

thanks C Dub..also i guess i wasnt clear about it but theres only 7 pitchers starting at a time and 9 offensive players. the other 5 spots (+1 DL spot) can be filled with any mix of bats and arms. so if that helps you come up with any more trade possibilities i'd appreciate the help. also my roster has changed- i added bill hall for delmon young and added matt capps for dotel

IN that case I would try and see if you can trade Hamels for Ramirez.  It is a bit of a stretch but the other owner would be getting a top starter, and he does have 3rd base depth from which to deal -- you could also consider CC and Atkins for Ramirez if he wants a bat back.
