I heard the Chiefs are close to activating Holmes. With LJ (on my roster and busting) and KC's running game struggling, any chance Priest actually gets on the field? My league is very opportunistic, but we also limit roster size, and I'm not sure if it's worth dropping anyone yet. I would probably drop Cotchery or Ron Dayne to make this happen. Is it worth it? Is it too soon? (wait and see?). Thanks.

Admittedly, none of the 4 guys i mentioned is any sort of lock to be a starting RB, although I listed them in the order I believe to be most likely to least likely. However, it looks like Taylor probably has the 5th best chance out of any of those guys to be a (de facto) starting RB, so should I drop him to make room for one of those four, and if so, who? The reason I am looking ot take a flier on a RB is bc for my 3rd RB position i have: Deshaun, Deangelo, Kenny Watson, Earnest Graham. Caddy looks like hes done for the year (I didn't hear anything official, but thats how the injury looked), so Graham might be something depending on how he splits with Pittman.

Drop someone for Pittman?

I'm sitting at 1-2 in a competitive, high scoring, PPR league - lot of bonuses for TD length, yards, etc. While WR's and RB's have the same scoring system it seems like WR's are having the biggest weekly impact.

My team is as follows:

QB - Brady, Cutler

RB - Addai, T Jones, Foster, Green, Ward, and Wynn

WR - Driver, Evans, Curry, V. Jax, Holmes and J. Jones

TE/K/D - Crumpler, Stover, Bears

We start 2 RB and 2 WR with a rookie in the flex (any position - thus Wynn and Jones).

I've been offered TO or R. Moss for Addai. I'm really worried that I'm going to be thin at RB after this deal. However, my WR's have been a hit or miss proposition - thanks to Evans. Does anyone do this deal? Does getting Betts thrown in change your thoughts?

Jamal Lewis was just dropped onto the waiver wire. Is he worth a pickup as a reserve RB? What about Derrick Ward?

My current reserve RB are: Brandon Jacobs, Ladell Betts, and Jerious Norwood.

Is Lewis or Ward a better option than one of my reserves?

edit: I just noticed that Brandon Jacobs has a sprained MCL and looks to be out for a few weeks. Should I drop him outright for a waiver claim on Lewis or Ward - or should I keep him on the bench and run with Jackson/Gore/Betts/Norwood as RB's?

Ok, we just had our keeper draft this past week and I drafted Henry with my eighth pick because I thought he would have a huge year with what they have done with lesser backs. However, now i'm second guessing myself and i was wondering if i should consider trading Henry for guys picked later in the round: Edgerin James, McGahee, ronnie Brown, or more simply, just stand pat? Any helpful strategies?? Usually I like to do RB-RB-WR. But i was thinking of going RB-WR-RB...I could probably wait until the 5th or 6th rd to draft a QB right, as they aren't going to be scoring too many points in this league correct? Should I use the flex position for a RB or WR?? Any RB or WR I should most definetely draft to maximize these points??

If available, I was thinking Brian Westbrook in the 1st, and Reggie Bush in the 2nd. Unless of course, I should draft an elite WR in the 2nd, what do you guys think?

I know I asked this before, but tomorrow is the deadline for keepers. Originally, the opinion was to go with Romo, but Vincent Jackson looks awesome this preseason.

Am I the only one thinking VJ is the better keeper? I took them both as FA last year so Id only have to give up my last round pick for whichever I choose.

feel like I have to say it....he is the most overrated RB since McGahee wouldn't draft him #2 0r 3 and im sick of all the hype. He's already off to a slow preseason and this year leonard will take time and carries away.
You would think its like the 2nd coming of christ or somthing with all this hype out of nowhere becuase he's the new "flavor of the month"

I need to keep one player and of my team I'd like to keep one of two players, Larry Johnson or Willie Parker.

At first glance, I'd take Larry Johnson now that he's signed, but I have serious concerns about his O-line, but I know that Pittsburg has their own troubles trying to come up with a set line this preseason.

I'd like your thoughts on the keeper with the best potential this year.

Standard scoring 6pts. TD, 1 pt. per 10 yards, not a PPR league but get 1 pt. per 10 yrds receiving and 6 pts. per TD.

What round pick is Branch worth?

12 team PPR league, we have a keeper system. 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, TE, K

I have the #10 pick in the draft.

I have the option of keeping Branch in exchange for my 5th round pick, which would be the 58th pick overall. I'm already keepng Romo for my 12th round pick, so I'll probably be using my first 5 picks on RBs/WRs anyway.

Reports are that Branch and Hasselbeck look in sync. Because it's a PPR league, his value is obviously a little bit higher than it would be in a standard scoring format. I'm trying to figure out if I'm getting good value by keeping Branch as my 5th round pick. I'm figuring that about 8 players better than Branch will be keepers (we don't declare for another week).

So if there are 8 better players removed from the draft via keepers, does that justify using a 5th round pick, the 58th overall, to keep Branch?

Ok, I'm in a 12 team keeper league where you are allowed to keep up to two players, only each player will now take a spot two rounds ahead of where you drafted them last year (EX: I drafted Tom Brady in teh fifth last year, and now my third round pick automatically goes to him if I was to keep him). My question is this, with all the offensive additions to the Patriots this year, should I give up my third round pick for Brady or should i go with someone else (from the bottom list), or possibly not even keep any of these players and start anew this year? Thanks.

In most rankings I've seen Shaun Alexander is ranked 5th. Of course I'd expect LT and LJ to be ahead of him, but Jackson and Gore? I understand all the Stephen Jackson hype but do we really think he'll score 15 to 20 touchdowns? And even worse, Frank Gore? Yeah he had a great season last year but he only scored eight times on the ground and fumbles a lot. I know Gore caught 4 more TD's, but again I can't see him racking up 15+. Alexander missed 6 games last year and still managed 7 rushing TDs (one less than Gore). Before last year he'd been a 14+ TD guy for 5 straight years. I think if I had the 4th pick and Gore or Shaun were there I'd definitely take Shaun. And if I had the 3rd and Gore, Jackson, and Shaun were all available I might still go Shaun. From all reports I've heard he's 100% health and not on the cover or Madden 08'. So....am I Crazy or not? Any thoughts?

Hey everybody (that's still hanging around here),

I drew the last pick in my 14 team, PPR H2H Yahoo league (QB, 2RB, 3WR, TE, DEF, K). I was wondering if you guys had any helpful tips for picking at the turn of such a large league.

Normally, I would grab the two best RBs available. But I'm not sure any pairing of the backs available with my pickswould be a better choice than a top-tier wideout -- especially in a PPR league. I know I should grab one stud for sure, but shouldI pick up Steve Smith, Marvin Harrison or Chad Johnson with my other pick? After pick 15, I won't have another chance until pick 41 or 42!

I don't know much about PPR, as I've never played it before, but I imagine both posession receivers and running backs who play a big part in the passing game should move up on my draft board. For instance, if Reggie Bush is still there at 14, I'm taking him. But how much of a value increase should I give the top wideouts?

I'll throw some names out there.Here are the backs that may be available at the end ofthe first round, in the order that I've got them ranked:Reggie Bush (I hope), Willis McGahee, Ronnie Brown, Brandon Jacobs, Deuce McAllister, Thomas Jones, Cedric Benson. Is a 2 RB combo of any of these guys better for a PPR league than, say, McGahee and Harrison?

As always, I appreciate your insight.

12 teams, 2QBs, 2RBs, 3WR, and a WR/RB (among, of course, the TE, K, DEF). What is the best strategy as far as do you still have to draft runningbacks in the first 2 rounds? I feel like the difference between the 1st and 24th QB might even be greater than the 1st and 24th RB. However, are we really dealing with 36 RBs now? What about the WR/RB slot? Must you start a 3rd RB to compete with the others and draft accordingly? Thanks. Scoring is pretty standard, except passing TDs are also 6 points.

Should I go after Steven Jackson? We keep only one guy every year and as long as LJ gets 400 carries a year I don't see him lasting any longer than Jamal Anderson or Eddie George did - Jax on the other hand is in a very diverse offense and still racks up chunks of yards and lots of TDs. Thanks.

i have 2 guys Im keeping in Addai (round 4), and Maroney (round 10).

I've got a draft coming up in a week. We keep 10 players and have a rookie draft and then a regular draft. We start QB, 2 RBs, 3 WRs, TE, DEF, K. My team so far is:
QB: Kitna & Leinert
RB: Larry Johnson, Parker, Norwood & B. Jackson (GB, my rookie pick)
WR: Wayne, Driver, A. Johnson, Cotchery
TE: Cooley

At this stage there's not much to choose from.
I have the #1 pick in the draft, and I'm torn. The no-brainer pick is Brandon Jacobs, by far the best available player/RB (the other backs out there are Green, C. Taylor, Morencey, etc.). But the Chicago D is also available. So, a dilemna.
I don't really need Jacobs if Norwood cements his starting gig with Dunn out and if LJ actually plays for most of the season. But I love the insurance as well as the trading chip (if I drafted Jacobs I could trade one of my RBs for upgrades at any position).
I could wait till the draft snakes back and try to take the best available D, BUT last season I lost six or so matchups by 5 points or less, and in each of those losses my DEF & Kicker were outscored by 15 points on average, so I'm wary.

Do I take the best player available or the best fit for my team?

Any thoughts/suggestions?

I'm about to start my first 2 QB draft. Settings are standard (4 pts for passing TD, 6 for all others, 25 yds passing for 1 pt, 10 yds for all others), with 2 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, K, and DEF. 10 teams in the league.

I'm thinking of just mostly following my normal rankings, except changing depending on the position runs by the rest of the league. My guess is that WRs and TEs drop in value a bit - I think I'd rather deal with a group of mid-range high-upside receivers and get one, or maybe two solid QBs and a low-investment, high-upside #3 (Losman, A. Smith, Schaub, Grossman). We're only allowed to have 3 QBs on the roster so everyone (10 teams) can get a starter, unless you take the actual backup to one of your starters.

I also think there's a case for Peyton at #3 given the lack of quality QBs in this format, the uncertainty of LJ holding out, and the recent injury to Gore.
