And you are better off drafting multi-catagory players like Wright, Sizemore, Crawford and Reyes than you are drafting stricktly power guys. If you can get speed guys latter in the darft depends on the league and the type you get. Yes you can get a Dave Roberts later in the draft, you cal also get a Sexson in round 12.

For future reference, drafting power guys early is better than drafting stolen base guys. You can always find a stolen base guy in later rounds. With power guys, they help in runs, hrs, rbis, and you can find power guys who can hit for average. That's four out of five categories that that guy will produce in.

You are a l;ittle weak in power. First of I would see if you can trade Upton for someone like Uggla, which should get you another 10 HR or so. I think that combined with the players you already have should get you middle of the pack in power without hurting your SB too much.

Hey,

I'm in a 12-team mixed 5x5 roto league with 24-man rosters. I've been in this league for a few years now, and I'm generally competitive, typically in the top 3-4 places for much of the season, but I always end up in a late-season swoon and finish 6th or 7th. This is a pretty competitive league, most guys know what they're doing.

One of my typical problems is that I end up chasing saves. I take the "don't pay for saves" advice, and end up with guys like Chris Reitsma to start the season, and by the end of the season, my roster is littered with guys like Joe Nelson, Rafael Betancourt, David Riske, Fausto Carmona, Ambiorix Burgos, Chad Orvella, and numerous other potential flamethrowers who usually just end up torching my pitching ratios and taking up roster slots I should be using for hitters. This year, I hope that's not the case. I finally managed to catch lightning in a bottle with Otsuka, Wheeler, Soria, and Frasor, and Torres and Benitez are still hanging on.

I also tend to end up underpowered. I've never been in the top 3 or 4 for runs, RBI, or HR. I'm generally competitive in BA and steals.

We have a keeper system where we can keep 7 total players from different "tiers." We use Y!, so the four tiers are Y! rankings 1-20, 21,-60, 61-120, and 121+. We can keep 1 Tier 1 player, 2 Tier 2s, 3 Tier 3s, and 1 Tier 4 as a semi-flyer.

I like my team this year, but I'm off to a horrid offensive start. As usual. I think I'm underpowered once again, even though I drafted Crede and his subpar BA for power, and went with Bonds, Teix, and Berkman. I'm thinking I need to trade for some power since I'm not getting much out of my middle infield in that regard, and I pay a power price by having Ichiro in my OF.

How do the pros think this team looks? Am I right in thinking this is my best shot yet, but that I'm a bit overspeedy and need some pop in the lineup?

Any trade suggestions? The kind of guys I should be targeting?
