Because I had Shaq on my team this year, I was worst in free throw % (even though I had Peja) as well as turnovers. If I had somebody like Yao instead, I would have been champion!

Anybody else have similar problems?

My entire teams folded for half of the playoffs. All my playoffs were 2 weeks and I get behind 7-3 and win 6-4 the next week. I din't have any players that killed my team, just the manager. With bonehead trades like Boozer for Harpring. Rant over.[xx(]

listen to this, i was in the playoff finals in my league (yahoo 12 team head to head...)

i lost something like 5-4 cuz theirs 9 categories right?
well i was up 5-4 till the last day of regular season and guess what i lost by...lemme check my league page

k heres my results:

i won in FG%, PTS, AST, STLs all by a heft margin
then he won Rebounds, Blocks, turnovers, steals,

heres the clincher that i lost on the last day
My free throw percent was .796%
his free throw percent was .797%
so i lost 5-4 cuz of one free throw

Check my teams in my Profile...im crazy like that

That sucks. I actually tied in the finals in one of my leagues after 2 weeks 10-10. I lost the league because I had a worse regular season record; the samething happened to me in hockey 2 weeks earlier.

Roto- you need like Steve Nash/Chauncey Billups just to offset Shaq in FT%. Basically 2 guys who'll shoot like 90% to get you back to even.

Otherwise, you just can't take on those kinda handicaps. But having had Yao last year, believe MNS, you didn't want him. Maybe this/next year. The guys MNS finished out w/ were Dalembert (traded for D. George right before DC got hurt/'Haitiian Sensation' emerged) The Rattler (acquired for JJ right after Amare got healthy + Stack when he was healthy for a week or so) and Magloire (acquired for Tayshaun Prince and Voshon Lenard [utter pillaging, I'll admit, 1st year owner, but late in season!) w/ KG pulling down the majority of my boards.

That was a lotta crap, and nobody read it all, but maybe the point was that if you can get your F's to pull down a goodly # of boards (KG, Odom, Randolph, Boozer, etc) you can rely on your C's more for blocks, which usually means you've got a defensive player who won't touch the ball much (like Shaq does... causing TO's and sending him to the line to kill you) and who won't utterly destroy your FT%.

You can stand a lot more 1-2s from Ben Wallace/Dalembert/Ratliff than you can 3-7s from Shaq/Duncan/Antoine Walker, though Duncan will shoot better from the stripe (like, 75%), and Walker should, maybe on a new team.

Mr. Nate Snell apologizes for the pointless ramble, it's just Roto Hoops is what he does best. Get him started he'll never stop.

I have never drafted Shaq and I never will. Guys who shoot his percentage from the line the number of times he does will kill you. You can get the points, rebounds, and blocks elsewhere. Ben Wallace isn't as bad because even though he shoots a worse percentage, he doesn't shoot free throws nearly so often as Shaq. It sounds counterintuitive because Shaq is the most dominant player in te game, but do not draft this guy. If you do, trade him and get a T-Mac in return.

Don't want to be a smart ass but it makes me smile thinking I picked Shaq with my first pick an
