Despite everything he's got goin' for him, teams were hesitant to use a high pick on a 6'0 PG for fear he'd be a defensive liability matched up against the other, bigger PG's in the league.

You're right though, it's pretty ridiculous that team's would rather have a high-schooler who looked great in a 1- day workout sit on their bench for 2 years before he's ready than take a polished, winner, like Nelson who's at least proven he can play college ball consistently and at a high level and is ready to contribute right away.

Not that Jameer is going to be as good as Iverson.. but did Ivy's lack of size ever stop him from being a starter in the NBA? I'd say he's similar to Allen in many ways, though not as quick or pure of a scorer just yet.
