First of all, on behalf of Matt Kenseth, I'd like to thank the Racing Gods! We FINALLY won a race. WHHOOO HOOO... only 11 points out of the chase with California and Richmond coming up. Two of Matt's better tracks.
Now, on the Jarrett and Newman situation. This article says Jarrett will face no penalties: http://www.nascar.com/2005/news/headlines/cup/08/28/djarrett_rnewman/index.html I'm sure Cryin Ryan is not going to be happy with this. However, I don't blame Jarrett for the retaliation. Just next time, maybe he shouldn't make it so obvious.
Did you like the way Kyle Petty was putting Carl Edwards in his place - in a nice way? I like Kyle Petty, the guy has class.
It was sooo good to see Jeff Burton get a 2nd place finish. And whaddup with Skinner?? Holy Guacamole!!!! a seventh place finish!
On to California Speedway - My home track. I'll be at the Busch race for sure. I'm hoping someone in my racing network has a free cup ticket to give up so I can see that night race. :-)

Congrats Wenchy on the Kenseth win - a popular one in this household as well. My other favorites finished 2nd and 4th so it was the best race of the year for our drivers and really the best race period of the year - I love Bristol and the short tracks.
We had a a cookout and mini throw down for the race along with a buddy of mine who came into town and stayed for the race. Yo, Ken (NC) - if your reading.
I've always liked Kyle - such a good guy and class act. These young guns should all take a long hard look at how Kyle handles himself on and off the track. Besides my 2 favorites, I can't think of another driver who I would like to see win a race more than Kyle.
Newman is no angel but Jarrett showed why I consider him to be one of the biggest jackasses in all of Nascar.
Despite Jarrett, K.Harvick still remains the poster child for spoiled race car drivers - tossing his team, spotter and RCR under the bus then not being anywhere to be found to take his repaired race car back out on the track is sad - Harvick is not exactly perfect himself. He had a right to be angry (at Jarrett) but once agian he throws a tantrum and looks the clown when all the facts shake out.
Harvick and Jarrett should be handcuffed to Kyle Petty for the remainder of the season so they can have a better understanding of what the word "Professional" means. But then agian, why penalize Kyle by having to play baby sitter when he did nothing wrong.

I'm really not a Harvick fan. I just thought it sucked for him to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. I was disappointed to see Scott Riggs getting in the 29 to get the team the points they needed, however. I'm glad Kevin stepped up and came back to the car. I wonder what their Monday morning team meeting will be like. Though, Kevin hasn't signed a new contract with RCR because he wants to see better performing cars before he does - he can't blame Saturday night on RCR.. that was just racin.
I was starting to think.. they gave DJ a two lap penalty for his driving.. how come they didn't do that to Edwards? He was driving reminiscent of Dale Earnhardt. He could have used a penalty himself. Besides Kyle Petty,he knocked someone else out of the way.. Kasey Kahne? I can't remember who.

Edwards ran over a few Sat night ... I believe the one that got the most attention other than Kyle Petty was Jeff Green who also drives for Petty Enterprises.
Thats no doubt why Kyle had the long talk with Edwards - edwards single handledly took out both of Petty Enterprise's cars who were having decent runs till edwards struck.
I am of the understanding that Harvick has 1 yr left on his current contract.
