Just to preface, it's an 8-team league, 6 pts for any TD, 1 pt for every 20 yds passing, and -2 for sacks, INTs, and fumbles lost. RBs/WRs/TEs get 1 pt for every 10 rush/rec yds.
QB - Carson Palmer (@ DEN), Tony Romo (vs. PHI), Brett Favre (vs. MIN)
RB - Rudi Johnson (@ DEN), Frank Gore (vs. ARZ), Tiki Barber (vs. NO), Joseph Addai (@ HOU)
WR - Torry Holt (vs. WSH), Roy Williams (vs. CHI), Donald Driver (vs. MIN), Lee Evans (vs. TEN), Braylon Edwards (vs. TB)
+ 1 Flex Offensive Player (QB/RB/WR)
I normally start a QB at the Flex since they have the potential for the most points. I have started Romo recently, but I'm wary about him against a fast-blitzing Philly D which has shaken up a lot of QBs and Favre has been very inconsistent. I could pick up either Matt Leinart (@ SF) or Jeff Garcia (@ DAL) if I drop Favre.
RBs is a toss-up between Rudi and Tiki. I don't think I can sit a streaking Gore with a great match-up.
WRs are questionable between Roy Williams and Lee Evans. Williams has a tough matchup this week at first glance, but the Bears have been hurting on D and might be resting players for the playoffs now. Thing is, Jon Kitna is still his QB. Evans has a good matchup and has been strong recently. Go with him over the stud?
And for TE, should I keep going with LJ Smith or pick up Vernon Davis?
Thanks for the help in this important week.
- Mike

| Here goes. I would go with Romo and Favre at flex as long as the weather is good in Green Bay, he will have to throw to beat the Vikes. Gore and Tiki would be my choices in your format. Evans is a nice play, Kitna is killing Roy. If you can get Davis I think I would roll the dice and do that, he has scored the last 2 weeks and Smith is looking for him. Good Luck! | I'm basing this on start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR and one Flex. Starters in red, flex in green(it is Xmas right), stole this idea from Ben Ice and love it. mikemethod (12/19/2006) Just to preface, it's an 8-team league, 6 pts for any TD, 1 pt for every 20 yds passing, and -2 for sacks, INTs, and fumbles lost. + 1 Flex Offensive Player (QB/RB/WR)Here's why: I like starting the most running backs possible, especially when you're penalized for sacks, INTs AND Fumbles--kind of negates the bonus of 6 points for a passing TD, which I don't see Palmer getting a lot of. I think Romo goes large on Xmas day, Favre goes very large in what could be his last home game ever. Gore is your top back followed by Tiki and WR I easily take Lee Evans over Roy who has been excluded from the gameplan by the Lions recently. Driver and Holt are 1 and 1a only because Minny's pass D sucks so bad.
