League settings:
non-keeper 10 team H2H league
stats: G,A,P,+/-,PIM,PPP,SHP,GWG,SOG,W,GAA,SV%,SV,SO
starting positions: C,C,LW,LW,RW,RW,F,F,F,F,D,D,D,D,U,U,G,G
5 bench positions
3 min games appearances for goaltenders
currently sitting in 4th place
current roster:
C - Jokinen, Richards, Sedin, Drury, McDonald, Sillinger
LW - Ovechkin, Smyth, Sedin, Cleary, Ponikarovsky
RW - St. Louis, Selanne, Cheechoo, Zherdev, Samuelsson
D - Zubov, Blake, Bieksa, Weber
G - Turco, Toskala
NA - Bernier
IR - Fisher, Connolly, Berard
Trade proposed:
I get: Hasek, Kovalev and Chara
For: Selanne, McDonald and Smyth
I'm thinking this will solidfy my goaltending, as I only have two goaltenders and the FA pile is slim pickings at best(Aebsicher, Auld the only two worth mentioning).
My roster would look like this afterwards:
C - Jokinen, Richards, Sedin, Drury, Sillinger
LW - Ovechkin, Sedin, Ponikarovsky, Cleary
RW - St. Louis, Cheechoo, Kovalev, Zherdev, Samuelsson
D - Chara, Zubov, Blake, Bieksa, Weber
G - Hasek, Turco, Toskala
NA - Bernier
IR - Fisher, Connolly, Berard
more backstory if needed:
Realisitically, Hasek is the most valuable goaltender I could acquire that is available at an affordable price, as I've already gone after Miller(the won't do it for McDonald and Selanne straight up for Miller), Kiprusoff(guy wants Ovechkin) and Brodeur(guy who has him only has one other goaltender and its Denis so he can't trade Brodeur).
I rank #1 in my league in goals, assists, points, +/-, powerplay points and SOG but my I'm last in most categories of goaltending because I've alternated subpar goaltenders like Joseph, Norrena and Auld in and out of my lineup all season and my team has suffered from doing that.
I don't see McDonald as much of a loss since i'm so stacked at center and I'm expecting Brad Richards to have a big second half on top of that. I question whether the Ducks continue to be as good as they were in the first half with Pronger and Giguere out of the lineup. Kovalev has been playing much better for the Habs recently and both he and Chara serve a good dose of PIM which is a category I usually lose.
*update = trade accepted. so this is final what do you guys think?

Frankly, Hasek is nice but if you needed a third goalie, I'd gone for someone more solid if you were giving up Selanne. However, since you couldn't go for comparable goalies, Hasek will do as a G2. I am not sure if he's available but just so it's said, look for Osgood and try to get him since Hasek has had a shaky injury history and Osgood would be a good handcuff for him. The only wild card is Kovalev since he was a healthy scratch last game so hopefully he'll turn it around soon to make the trade on par. Chara will be good as usual so no problem there.

| im only a bit bothered that you gave up Selanne. i think he's the difference maker in you losing this trade by a tiny bit, not much but a tiny bit. if you had offered Cheechoo instead of Selanne you'd be giving up a history goals without losing out on one of the best scorers in the league this year. your thinking is that the Ducks won't continue as they have been for the rest of the season but i would argue that they only have to hold out until Pronger returns since Bryzgalov should be fine to hold the fort til Giggy is back. and i don't see them slumping big over the 2nd half. sorry but that's what i think.

| Now it looks like the guy who has Ryan Miller will give me him for Hasek straight up. What do you think?

now he has balked at dealing Miller, again, and would prefer to deal his tandem of Vokoun/Mason.
I was thinking of Vokoun/Mason and Alfredsson for Hasek, Kovalev and Cleary. What do you guys think?
