My team and where they were drafted:

C-  Piazza- 14

1B- Pujols- 1

2B- B.Roberts-8

3B- A.Ramirez- 2

SS- Tejada- 4

OF- Berkman-3, Ichiro-6, Figgins-11

Util- LaRoche-16

SP- Halladay-5, Smoltz-9, Haren-10, Hardin-13, Mussina-15

RP- Putz-7, Lidge-12

Bench- Markakis-17, Baldelli-18, Griffey-20, Sanchez-21, F.Thomas-22, J.Vazquez-19

My take on this draft: I think I have a great infield. My problem is I have to many OFers and not enough pitching. We start 7 pitchers and I only have 8. I grabbed Sanchez for any IF injury replacement. We only start 1 Util player and I have 2. I could keep LaRoche to play 1st if Pujols goes down or put Berkman there and use one of my backup OFers to cover there. Who of Markakis, Baldelli, or Griffey is most expendible? Do I keep LaRoche or Thomas to start the year at Util? The most highly rated SPers on the WW are Escobar, Maddux and C.James. There are 2 teams with only 3 OFers who I could maybe pitch a trade to. The pitchers that I think I could possibly offer a trade for are R.Johnson, Garland, K.Rogers, R.Hill, or Patterson. Who would you guys suggest dropping or offering in a trade to target one of those pitchers?

1B,W,R,Rbi=1pt, 2B,SB=2pt, 3B=3pt, HR=4pt

IP=2pt, K=1pt, W,H= -.5, ER= -1pt, W,S= 10pt, CG=5pt

weekly lineups, 10 team CBS point league, non keeper

Griffey is the most expendable, I would keep LaRoche over Thomas, and add Escobar who is nearly an elite pitcher when healthy.

Would you trade Ichiro for F.Hernandez? My initial thought is no.

interesting that Tejada fell to 4th and Ichiro to 6th.  both great bargains.  Griffey is most expendible but if you're having injury issues with your power guys then you'll need Griff and then Baldelli is more expendible.  i like Thomas more than LaRoche, hitting in that lineup in Toronto Hurt and the Jays should mash.  i like Escobar on the wire and why not try to land Unit with one of your spare OF's.

As C-Dub suggested, I picked up Escobar and dropped Griffey. I know I probably won't need both Baldelli and Markakis, but I'm not sure which one to hang onto. If Markakis hits for a full year like he did for the second half last year, he would seem to be the one to keep, at least to me. But Baldelli is ranked higher in all the rankings I've seen. So who to keep?

I'd keep Markakis, Baldelli and Thomas for now. I'd offer LaRoche for Patterson -if he's healthy he'll give you lots of K with a home stadium that supresses the ERA and WHIP.

Again - I would offer Sanchez around and if I have no takers - dump him - he offers very little after his BA. And if you do get hit by injuries in the IF - remember that the Angels may stick Brandon Wood at 3b and move Figgins all over the field - likely gaining him 2b eligibility in Yahoo leagues by May in addition to his 3b/OF- so you'll be covered. Tejada doesn't get hurt - so you are safe at SS.
