Before you ask, yes, I know I drafted two shortstops. Hanley's trade bait.
Spugs.... and the Slugs C - McCann, 1B - Morneau, 2b - Matsui, SS - Jeter, 3b - A-Rod, OF - Holliday, Byrne, Hart, Util - Braun, Ortiz SP - Bedard, Hamels, Guthrie, Shield, Carmona RP - Valverde, Capps, Gregg, Okajima, Bell

You don't have nearly enough power or depth at pitching (although I absolutely love the three value picks that are the front end of your rotation). I would prefer a pitching stud and personally I think Hanley will bust in terms of a third rounder this year. When you went Ichiro with your second pick I think taking Hanley there was a huge mistake--are you really going to be able to trade him for anyone better than you could have gotten between 26 and 35? I dunno...
Atkins is a fantastic pick in the fourth and I'm really high on Rios this year. Reaches include Maggs, Boof and Gorz. I'm not cool with Boof or Gorz as my #4 starter in any league just quite yet.
Excellent work with Teahan and Gomes. Just absurd to get them that late.
If you're using the MRI philosophy and the Neshek/Shields picks suggest you might, I would have preferred using either the 12th or 13th round picks to nab another closer to keep you more competitive in saves off the bat (Fuentes perhaps) especially since Wainwright's role isn't clearly defined (although I think he was a nice pick too).
Good draft overall - not enough power and I'm not a fan of the Hanley pick unless you can somehow actually use him to upgrade to a top 25 player.

SO much speed and so little power. HRam NEEDS to be traded into a top power bat through some sort of package deal because I don't think you'll get one straight up for him as I feel he'll come out of the gate slow. You would have been better served grabbing a power bat instead of Ichiro or HRam.
Repeating BStone, Bonser and Gorzelanny are reaches that early but nice value at the end with Teahen and Gomes.
I like your first three starters but I wouldn't classify any of the three as rock solid so you'll have to take a wait and see approach there. Also, I am way off the Nick Swisher bandwagon as I feel like people are hanging a bit too much on this guy's nuts. He needs to improve his batting eye before I believe in repeat power numbers.

| So far, no luck trading Hanley. I even had a guy starting Drew turn me down... We'll see how the season goes. I've certainly started with much worse teams than this, and I was always better at working the waiver wire until it screams for mercy than drafting. Frankly, i'm still pleased with the draft. If I'd grabbed Holliday instead of Hanley I'd be happier, but hindsight is a wonderful thing. As for Ichiro, he's in a contract year, so I'm thinking this is gonna be a gooooood year to have Ichiro.
