Normally I try to pick players that will help give me position versatility in the early rounds. Last year I took Soriano in the 2nd, ARam in the 3rd or 4th, Peralta in the 7th so I would have the some of the "tougher" positions covered with viable starters. This year I tried to focus more on what stats players specialized in rather than position and ended up with the following team, let me know what you think (I had the 3rd pick).

C Piazza (16)
1B LaRoche (12)
2B Weeks (10)
SS Guillen (6)
3B Chone Figgins (5)
OF Beltran (2)
OF Sizemore (3)
OF Wells (4)
UTIL Baldeli (13)

P Johan (1)
P Smoltz (8)
P Lackey (9)
P Schilling (14)
P BJ Ryan (7)
P Chad Cordero (11)

Bench: Cuddyer (15), Teahen (20), Papelbon (17), Clemens (18), Olsen (19)

Awesome.

What size league is this that Beltran is available at the back end of the 2nd round and Sizemore in the 3rd?

I think you need to play in more challenging leagues, my friend.

Do you have one I can join? This was just a random ESPN public. The private league I've been in the past few years has fallen apart...

Awesome.

Not enough power - check the boards for openings in more competitive leagues.
