| I know i would lose a ton of offense here, but i really really need the pitching, i am in last in all 4 of the pitching cats, am in 2nd in saves but i traded 2 closers so i will probably fall to 4th or 5th in saves I would probably try to have more players involves, maybe ortiz plus a marginal pitcher(i guess buerlhe or colon) for haren plus a marginal hitter(probably ryan garko). c russel marin 1b ortiz 2b kent 3b inge ss tejada CI glaus MI kinsler OF jose guillen OF delmon young OF emil brown OF erstad UT ramon vazquez bn melky cabrera bn jose cruz jr BN elijah dukes SP scot downs SP kyle snyder SP jimmy gobble SP bart colon SP homer bailey RP accardo RP feliciano p matt wise p matt guerrier BN dice k BN mark buerlhe BN brian bannister BN noah lowry BN joe saunders DL freddy garcia DL esteban loaiza he is the other teams roster, he is in 4th place, at the top in ERA, Ks and WHIP, and middle of the pack in most of the hitting cats c ronny paulino 1b garko 2b jose lopez 3b edwin encarnacion SS jason bartlett MI carlos guillen CI adrian gonzalez OF abreu OF damon OF youkilis OF lind UT ryan howard BN temal sledge, BN evan longoria BN nrandon wood SP haren sp olsen sp lincecum SP blanton SP jonathon sanchez RP papelbon RP francis P jonathon brostox P scot shields BN ervin santana BN bob howry BN david riske DL angel guzman DL glen perkins He could use the offense upgrade and could probably absorb the loss in pitching. Does ortiz/colon for haren/garko even get accepted? would i be making a mistake in offering that trade? any thoughts are welcome

Target a different pitcher. Haren's Ba/Bip is a very low .218 a full .010 lower than any other pitcher, and his strand rate is 87%, 5% higher than anyone else. Yes he has been a great starter this year, and he will finsh the year as a good one, but those numbers are going to regress toward the norms of .300 and 70%, when they do his ERA and WHIP will go up.

PhD Slacker (6/13/2007) might you also think about the less exciting but still helpful move for ervin santana? you might even be able to get him for troy glaus or less...glaus for ervin santana would be shooting my self in the head and cause me to plummet to 20th place. ervin must be benched for all road starts, i guess if i could get him for some scrub like elijad dukes or jose cruz jr i would would consider it. but i would not even consider ervin until 2k8. I do think it is a good idea to go after another SP, but i will need it with freddy garcia's torn rotator cuff.
