I'm stuck in second in a 10 team, mixed, 5x5, non-keeper league, but trailing the first place guy by about 20 points (I have 65 he has 85).
Here are my current standings:
BA: 10th, HR: 3rd, R: 3rd, RBI: 2nd, SB: 5th
W: 8th, SV: 6th, K: 4th, ERA: 1st, WHIP: 3rd
Lineup:
C- Martin
C- Doumit
1B- Fielder
2B- Matsui
3B- Zimmerman
SS- Guillen
OF- A. Jones
OF- Crawford
OF- Pence
OF- Teahen
OF- J. Bay
UT- Hafner
UT- A. Gordon
BN- J. Bartlett (I was 9th in steals 2 weeks ago)
P- Peavy, Sabathia, C. Young, Bush, Gallardo, Cain (BN), Valverde, Gregg, Lidge, Corpas
FA hitters: A. Laroche (only there bc I needed speed bad), Willingham, C. Pena, C. Young, Kemp, Butler, Freel, F. Thomas, Gomes, Barfield, Burrell
FA pitchers: Howry, Baker, McGowan, C. James, Wainwright, Soria, Maholm, El Duque, A. Miller, Way-Rod
I'm shopping Bay and Cain right now to see what I can get. How does it look and what can I do to make a run at first?

It really depends on where the 1st place team is ahead of you. If somehow you are right behind him in every catagory 20 points would not be a big deal. A 20 point lead doesn't really help much, it could mean that his team is dominating the league and will be hard to catch if he is confortable in the standings in each catagory, or it could mean little if he is closely followed in numerous catagories. The 10th in batting average worry me as that will be hard to make up most likely.

Bay and Jones have been the big culprits on the BA lately, but I have an offer to give up Bay to get Corey Hart, which I'm seriously considering. I just don't know if Bay will turn it around this year given how long he's struggled, and Hart seems to be the real deal across the board. Jones is picking back up a little, granted he'll probably hit .250 but at least he'll start making up for it elsewhere now.
