Thornton isn't going anywhere; the contract he signed overseas is a "just in case" deal. I believe he can opt out of it at any time... I agree Mulder; the NHL isn't the most popular sport to begin with. I highly doubt it will bounce back the way baseball did....

All I can say is - after reading TMR's TRUM from the 21st... my thoughts of hockey being the lost underdog on this site seem reinforced...

It's the collective bargaining agreement talks Matt, not the 'trade talks'... and it will probably impact the future of professional hockey as we know it...but then again - you could care less... Some people...[xx(]

Hockey is a religion up here!

Me too. Our fantasy league plans to run this year NHL or not, so i'll be around. We're still gonna do our draft and FA signings in August, but if the owners DO lock the players out (i'm afraids they will) we're just gonna use the WHA and add players from their teams..

I happen to be very knowledgable on hockey and have plenty of stats to back it up[]. I have won 3 out of 4 leagues over the past 2 years, including a winner's league last season. If you have any hockey questions, feel free to e-mail me or just find some creative way to get in touch with me.

Hockey will go. There will be a crucial meeting at the deadline of September 15th in which they can then agree to something or agree to disagree and play a half season starting in January. This a fight not all owners want to fight and in that we will see how unified they will be through it all. I am slightly pro-owner but i see a steely resolve amongst the top players to ensure the union remains strong. Its often the guys with little service time or little window of opportunity who suffer in cases like this. It dissappoints me considerably.

Dallas have 1 timeout left there are 35 seconds to play and i run out of bounds on second down. Who am I?
